If you're stuck for a quick and inexpensive present for someone special in your life, try Embossed Velvet. It's fun, simple and amazing! Here's a photo of a heart embossed frame and instructions for the projects we worked on at the November Creative Retreat.
Supplies:
  • Velvet (use a rayon/acetate blend)
  • Rubber Stamps*
  • Iron and Hard Ironing Surface
  • Spray Bottle with Water

Instructions:

  • Preheat iron on medium temperature, no steam
  • Place stamp on velvet side of fabric.
  • Lightly mist back of velvet with water.
  • Place iron on back of velvet and hold in place for 15-20 seconds.

NOTE:
Make sure the holes in the iron are not over stamp. Continue until velvet is embossed to your liking.

Suggestion: Use your embossed velvet for table runners, frames, cards, scarves, stockings, album covers, gift bags - the possibilities are endless.
