deColourant Discharge Paste
I found the product worked well when stenciled, on most all of the fabrics.
I also stamped the fabric with a circular foam brush to achieve a polka dot discharge effect.
I found the stenciling (with a stencil paint brush) to be a fairly effective technique on the majority of the fabrics.
The black printed cotton discharged all the way to white, whilst the other fabrics appeared to discharge to varying shades of tan, or a lighter shade of the original color.

The Kandi DeColourant is amazing!
As an artist that creates clothing, I enjoy painting and dying, and have had some forays into discharge. But due to the fact that I often work in silk, bleach wasn't an option, and the discharge paste on the market, I found to be lacking (not to mention stinky). Using thiox for whole piece discharge was fine for some applications such as shibori, or other tied resist media, but getting fine detail was next to impossible. The other discharge paste that I have used (Jacquard) was smelly, and the results were a bit hap-hazard.
After trying deColourant creme and deColourant spray, I can say that this will be my go to product from now on. I got beautiful results with both the creme and the spray. The smell was much less offensive than the Jacquard brand, and I was able to get a good discharge. It also allows me to stop the discharging at any point if I really liked the colors I am getting. I actually liked the color of the creme, as it made screen printing much easier. I could see where it was going quite nicely I love the consistency of the creme. Not to (how to put this pleasantly) snotty. Great for stencil, screen print and direct application, where the Jacquard product really falls down. I have been very pleased with the product over all, and found it far superior to the Jacquard paste. I will now be able to add discharge to my work much more freely, and I am excited about that!

I have tried it on a number of fabrics cotton, rayon, silk hemp, linen. All of them discharged beautifully. I really didn't find one that wouldn't come out.

My acid test was the black cottons, both woven and knit. The blacks went through the most wonderful series of shades, depending on the base of the dye, and it was great to be able to stop at any time and not just go from dark to discharged.

Turquoise is a notorious color to remove, especially from hand dyed fabrics. I had great results on cotton. I can't wait to try this on hand dyed silk!

I was mixing my own paste from chemical powders. It was messy and time consuming. The paste broke down quickly. I tweaked it as best I could but it continued to give disappointing results. With deColourant I was finally able to achieve the professional, predictable results I expected. My rubber stamps now show clear fine line detail and silk screening is easy with the deColourant creme. I learned to regulate the amount of heat used to activate the creme. In fact the slow heat from the Florida sun allows me to make my cotton and silk fabrics go through the maximum amount of shade changes.
On some fabrics, I can get up to six perceptible changes in color and tone. The heat of an iron gave me about four. If I want the whitest image, I use high heat and then add steam and iron again. In the past I would over dye the area that I removed color from using a paint brush and liquid dye or thickened dye. It always looked a little messy and lacked detail.

With deColourant Plus, I could now take out color and put color back in exactly the same place, and all at the same time. My artwork now has rich vibrant color with detail never achieved before.
